Obligations

• Develop a strong and knowledgeable project perspective and connect the organization with a vision.
• Identify, define and drive innovation initiatives and product features from concept to release.
• Work with a small team of designers and multidisciplinary partners to research, test and develop community gaming experiences on Netflix.
• Collaborate with internal and external game studios to design and implement new platform features for widespread adoption.
• Own the end-to-end design process, from blue-sky design to UX specifications and high-quality UI design, and work closely with cross-functional partners to balance polish and speed to effective execution.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships and collaboration with partners and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership and strategic ability to lead initiatives and projects
• Known for creative and technical excellence, strategic thinking, client advocacy and business acumen
• Identify business needs using industry knowledge and business context; change your team’s work to accommodate complexity and uncertainty. Deep understanding of the social mechanics of games, user expectations, behaviors and trends in community building and digital engagement
• Multiple successful gaming platform products/releases that significantly impacted player experience and business
• In-depth understanding of game production methods, technologies and game industry trends
• Understand exactly what motivates users and disseminate that knowledge throughout the organization
• Able to independently organize, break down and structure complex problems
• Demonstrates a strong commitment to the inclusion of all voices and creates space for diverse communication styles
• Stakeholders are constantly looking for leadership, problem solving and decision making; acts as a key stakeholder in creating successful and impressive work for other groups. Consistently produces and/or facilitates activity that improves the quality of the work of his team.
• Ability to quickly produce a wide range of UX/UI concepts and dig deep to identify edge cases.
• Experience with A/B testing and using data to inform design decisions is a plus
• Figma experience and working with established design systems is a plus

•  Accounting basics – We expect you to have 3 years of equivalent accounting experience in your field and a bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or finance; CPA license  preferred.
• Attention to detail Love of data –
• We pride ourselves on  quality work, checking key numbers and formulas for accuracy and using spreadsheets and system data to reconcile accounts and resolve issues.
• We want our accountants to love Excel pivot tables and struggle with large data sets.
• Enthusiasm and quick learning – Enthusiasm for designing and building new accounting systems and improving existing systems.
• Previous experience in reviewing employment contracts (income, leases or other complex documents), data entry and analysis, research and other problem solving is a plus, but we understand that you probably have never done content accounting.
• That’s fine with us because we teach you until you’re excited to learn.
• Curiosity and passion – our team members ask probing questions, challenge the status quo, make changes to improve processes and have fun  doing it all. A positive attitude and never settling for “good enough” is key, as is adapting to our unique company culture.
•   Industry experience in  studio or consumer products is beneficial but not required for the position as long as you are enthusiastic about the position and able to learn quickly.
• Adaptable – You must be comfortable with constantly changing content, financial and accounting issues and projects.

MORE DETAILS/BONDS

•  Based in our Hollywood office, reporting to  Content Accounting Management.
• Part of a team responsible for the financial integrity of a company’s income, liabilities, assets (equity), liabilities (payments or deferred income), and expenses (marketing expenses).
• Review  royalty reports received from licensees and assess their reasonableness.
• Reviewing and documenting consumer product contracts, which includes interpreting contract terms and understanding the application of our accounting principles.
• Perform monthly closing activities such as income posting and reconciliation.
• Lead process improvement and participate in exciting projects such as system design and testing.
• Cross-functional communication with various teams across the company, including legal, finance, licensing, tax and engineering teams.
