The Amazon Global Logistics (AGL) Cross Border team is centrally responsible for providing international transportation services to customers, offering complete supply chain solutions. We are looking for a customer-oriented individual who wants to be a part of this journey and handle day-to-day operational tasks and customer inquiries. A customs clearance specialist handles daily sea, air, rail and truck customs clearance for cross-border shipments. The customs brokerage specialist communicates with freight forwarders / sellers / sellers during the preparation of the shipment and documents, monitors the status of shipment clearance and escalates problems if necessary. The brokerage specialist also performs data functions for record submission, classification and creation, tracking and monitoring of record requirements. Basic tasks
- When deploying the client, check the data for completeness
- Prepare import documents to ensure timely release and delivery of orders
- Check the accuracy of business documents and payments
- Submit documents to regulatory authorities
- Achieve daily/weekly targets for engagement submission and accuracy KPI
- Work with other service providers to resolve delivery issues
- Collaborate with source and destination logistics teams
- Tier 2 support for customer service questions
BASIC STUDIES
- High School Diploma
- 1 year experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, import/export operations OR data entry/data processing.
- 1 year of work experience with Microsoft products (Excel, Word).
- Experience in accurate data entry and analysis
FAVORABLE QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, transportation, business or supply chain.
- Experience with, for example, international logistics, cross-border transportation and supply chain, or US customs rules and regulations
- 1 year as a licensed customs broker or have customs experience with willingness to take the customs broker or certificate (CCS) licensing exam
- Ability to read and understand regulatory language and resolve customs entry issues (ABI, ACE related, AMS)
- Understand what resources and when to use them (CROSS, HTS, internal databases)
