Full Job Description:

For this, data curation from a variety of domains, including Growth, Finance, Product, Content, and Studio, is required. All of this data has been gathered and curated by the amazing Netflix data engineers, who bring the data to life.
•  The tasks involved in Netflix’s data engineering role include developing systems to process data efficiently and modeling the data to support analytics. These choices can range from batch data pipelines, which power business metrics, to real-time processing services, which link to our key product features. Furthermore, we require that our data engineers have a comprehensive understanding of these big distributed systems since they form the basis of our data solutions. Candidates typically need to be experts in at least one of these skill sets, and their knowledge should cover several of these skill sets. To succeed as a data engineer, you must be a good communicator because you will be collaborating with teams from business, engineering, and data science to foster a learning culture. •  Workplace: We will consider candidates who are prepared to relocate to Los Gatos, California, as well as fully remote candidates (remote in the US with sporadic visits to Los Gatos), depending on the team your skills are most compatible with.

 Who are you called?

•  You strive to write elegant code and are at ease picking up new skills independently.
•  You are proficient in at least one major programming language (e. g. Python, Java, and Scala) and adept at SQL.
•  You enjoy working with teams to expand the potential of analytical insights, create new product features using data, and provide machine learning models.
•  You have expertise in software engineering for data services, distributed data processing, or all three.
•  Web-scale datasets are easy for you to work with, and you are familiar with big data tools like Spark or Flink.
•  You are meticulous, possess a keen data intuition, and are deeply committed to data quality.
•  You appreciate how important having strong documentation and data debugging skills are.
•  You can identify with and embody a lot of Netflix Culture’s characteristics. You enjoy giving and receiving direct criticism when working both alone and in groups.
