About this role:

Responsible for developing enterprise-level technical solutions and standards for ~2000 applications. As a key figure in the modernization and rationalization of this application portfolio, the Lead Java Engineer will directly influence the development  and standardization of application modernization for Wells Fargo.

•  Design key strategies and accelerators to enable modernization, which includes partnering with LOBs to understand their needs and develop necessary accelerators with  vendor partners.
• Provide leadership through influence and technical expertise to  strengthen  relationships between CTO and LOB architecture and engineering teams and leadership, ultimately enabling team effectiveness to achieve overall group and technology goals.
• Collaborate with key LOB stakeholders to understand the application signature of a specific technology and archetype
•  Lead solution deployment through agile, hands-on design thinking with a relentless focus on quality, scalability, performance and on-time delivery.
• Lead application development teams  to update applications, including mentoring and contributing to upskilling. Collaborate with architecture team members to  define  technology strategy; validate architectural sites and fully implement it.
•  Work with Cloud Enablement and Service Enablement teams to validate the services provided by the modernization team and LOB units for readiness and consumption.
•  Collaborate with vendor partners and cloud providers to effectively leverage the capabilities needed to  modernize applications.
• Ensure that all technology standards, policies, checkpoints and governance are well defined and measured for success.
• This responsibility ensures the improvement of our risk and regulatory practices and continuously evaluates technology standards and strategy to protect Wells Fargo’s technology environment while  improving our efficiency and effectiveness in bringing Wells Fargo products to market faster and with fewer errors.

Required Qualifications, USA:

•  7 years of engineering or equivalent experience as evidenced by one or more of the following: work experience, education, military experience, training
•  7 years of design experience with a strong focus on application modernization (cloud application development/modernization,  Kubernetes implementation and public cloud expertise is a plus)
•  5 years of  application automation and integration experience
•  Experience securing IaaS/PaaS private clouds or DevOps environments
•  Knowledge and understanding of cloud services, PaaS design principles and microservices and containers
•  Experience in providing complex enterprise IT solutions
•  Design consulting experience at the highest technical level: design, integration, implementation, scalability and problem definition
