DESCRIPTION:
Chief Architect – Application Cybersecurity certifies that our services, applications and websites are designed and implemented according to United’s secure development standard. The Chief Architect is a high-level role that works closely with development teams, product teams and other teams across the organization to integrate security across the product lifecycle from design to deployment. A Chief Architect is the recognized authority on security requirements definition, application security assessments, and developer improvement. The Lead Application Security Architect may be called on daily to evaluate a new system, review a proposed application change, or provide guidance on application security/coding best practices.

- Recruited as a trusted advisor/consultant and helps develop security plans, requirements, risk monitoring and mitigation guidelines in line with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Lead architectural design and threat modeling assessments for our products (cloud and on-premises)
- Recommends and implements products/services that support operational needs and security requirements
- Help lead the design, definition and implementation of security best practices and standards and ensure product development teams understand them
- Promotes and contributes to the continuous improvement of our security strategy and supports risk prioritization
- Helps train and support team members
- Leads the improvement of information security accessibility through automation, continuous integration pipelines and other tools
- Perform manual code analysis of applications using SAST, DAST and SCA scanning solutions and manual vulnerability analysis
- Technical point of contact for product groups regarding automation, CI/CD and repair manuals

Qualifications
- What is needed to succeed (minimum requirements):
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science in STEM
- At least 9 years of work experience in this field
- Deep understanding of OWASP Top 10 and CWE 25; ability to implement and integrate recovery strategies
- Ability to collaborate with development teams to create secure solutions, communicate risks and agree on different priorities
- Knowledge of common vulnerabilities and attack vectors, common encryption techniques, and common authentication protocols
- Familiarity with application risk analysis, risk classification and application security testing tools
- Knowledge of current industry standards, best practices and reference architectures
- Solid understanding of secure network and system design in both cloud and traditional environments, and network and network protocols
- Thorough understanding of web applications, web servers, layer 7 application technologies, application development and deployment frameworks and protocols
- Ability to work independently and initiative
- Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, interpersonal, collaborative, written and verbal communication skills
- Must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States without sponsorship
- Successful completion of the interview is necessary to meet the requirements of the position
