As CM of a new regional data center, you will be part of a highly creative and powerful team tasked with solving the most exciting and challenging problems in building Amazon data centers. Amazon CMs are always at the forefront of new product creation across multiple industries, and we continue to focus on delivering the most innovative products to our customers. You will be on the construction site interacting with construction companies on a daily basis as a representative of the Amazon owners and directly responsible for cost, schedule and quality while managing construction suppliers and contractors building data centers in Canada, the United States and Latin America: (AMER) ). CM is also used as a leader in his field: construction management, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or road and water engineering.

Basic tasks
- You will be responsible for all aspects of the data center construction life cycle, starting with due diligence, budgeting, site selection, permitting, project review, day-to-day construction supervision and commissioning of completed facilities. You directly manage construction projects.
- Direct interface with general construction contractors during pre-construction, bidding, contract, execution and project closeout/stamper phases.
- Create Requests for Construction (RFP) and Scope of Work (SOW)
- Negotiate with general contractors and evaluate bids/proposals in detail and accurately.
- Financial analysis and reporting.
- Management of construction projects for individual projects aimed at increasing the flexibility of our data centers. Constructability estimates for civil, structural, electrical and mechanical projects related to building new data centers or optimizing existing data centers.
- Management of construction documents including review of solicitations, RFIs, change orders and invoices.
- Total project quality, including implementation support and integrated system testing, as well as project implementation control.
- Concurrent management of multiple projects, including construction of new data centers and capital improvement projects related to existing data centers.
- Operational support for installed facilities, including review of procedures, best practices and maintenance initiatives. Record and report key construction metrics to team members and management.
- leads teams in troubleshooting and root cause analysis of equipment failures.
- Be a leader in the data center support group and internal and external teams.
- Travel to construction sites across the Americas: (Canada, USA and LATAM) to support new construction and new product delivery to the AWS Construction Management team.
- Ability to meet travel, entry and return requirements within the US, Canada and LATAM countries
- Travel required: 50-75%.
- You have a suitable passport and the possibility of obtaining a visa to travel to international project locations.
- Ability to meet entry requirements in regions and countries outside the designated office.
