Promptly reports prescription errors to the on-call pharmacist and follows the policies and procedures related to the Company’s Pharmacy Errors and Quality Improvement Program. Reviews and follows Walgreen Co. pharmacy user manual. Strictly adheres to Walgreen Co.’s Good Faith Dispensing Policy. during all applicable prescription dispensing activities.
Handles calls that do not require the personal attention of a pharmacist, including calls to physicians.
Processes (corrects and returns) manual requests for third party prescription services in a timely and efficient manner and performs other clerical duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager. Assists and supports the pharmacy department in inventory activities such as ordering, unloading, checking and storing medications.
Maintains knowledge of corporate asset protection techniques and files claims for excess inventory (item received but not billed), shortages (billed but not received), order errors, or damaged merchandise related to Rx medications.
Ensures compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products such as alcoholic beverages and tobacco products. Builds and maintains displays including advertising, seasonal, superstructures and merchandising.
Restores and updates as instructed. Assists in food differentiation (eg raw and pre-cooked) and product placement according to regulations/procedures (eg raw and frozen meat on lowest shelves).

Education and personal development

Undergraduate degrees

Preferred Qualifications

Six months of work experience in a retail environment is preferred.
Previous Walgreens experience preferred.
